It is my pleasure as Chair to welcome you to the University of British Columbia Dept of Radiology website. First the numbers: our department is comprised of 277 dedicated faculty members including 16 full-time/part-time appointments, 234 clinical appointments, 11 emeritus/honorary appointments and 16 associate members. The Department members are mostly in Vancouver but also include members in North Vancouver, Fraser Valley, Victoria, Prince George, and the Okanagan.
We are fortunate to have diverse teaching facilities associated with our Department, including Vancouver General Hospital (VGH), St Paul’s Hospital (SPH), UBC Hospital (UBCH), BC Children’s and Women’s Health Centre of BC (BCCH/BCCW), Royal Columbian Hospital, Victoria General Hospital, Royal Jubilee Hospital, Lions Gate Hospital, BC Cancer Agency-Vancouver Site and private clinics.
The UBC Department of Radiology is the only academic Radiology Department in the province. It provides extensive teaching to medical students, radiology and nuclear medicine residents, radiology fellows, as well as residents in other specialties. Research mentoring and infrastructure is also provided, all in an atmosphere that is pure West Coast. Please make sure to access the considerable resources within our site, to learn not only of our outstanding programs and services and the breadth of activities available in and around Vancouver, but also of the tremendous accomplishments of our Faculty, Fellows, Residents and staff.
