Vancouver General Hospital is a 950-bed facility and one of two acute care facilities that are part of the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority.
It is the major patient care, teaching and research hospital in British Columbia.
The Vancouver General Hospital is the trauma centre and a major referral centre for a number of specialties. The hospital provides clinical opportunities for resident exposure to imaging principles and management in biliary diseases, neurosurgery, thoracic surgery, vascular surgery, oncology, trauma, and non-HIV immunocompromised patients.
